Happy Earth Day!

In celebration of Earth Day 2015, we have created an animation about 5 items in your office you can compost, and maybe a couple items you cannot compost.

Earth Day is very important to
us here at Anda Creative and Back Forty Creative. It is also very important to many of our clients whose businesses promote responsible and sustainable products and services. We recently worked with TeraGanix, Inc. to help rebrand their EM•1® Bokashi composting system. This compact composting system allows you to easily and efficiently compost waste indoors. We created a new logo, label, instruction guide and several advertisements which will roll out early this summer. In fact, we are now using this composting system for much of our office waste including paper, cardboard, food and coffee grounds. Not staplers. Never staplers (see animation).

Follow us on Twitter to see the progress of our office composting and keep checking our blog for product images of the rebranded EM•1® Bokashi.

GD USA American Package Design

We are pleased to announce that a recent project our Back Forty Creative team designed for TeraGanix, Inc. has received a 2015 American Package Design Award from Graphic Design USA (GD USA). Feel free to stop by our office to take a selfie with the award. We know you want to.

It’s Five O’ Clock Somewhere

Bottle of red? Bottle of white? It all depends on what kind of wine label design you are in the mood for tonight. We recently designed the logo and wine labels for Kleine Himmel, a vineyard in Hermann, MO. The gold foil and embossed lettering of the Traminette and Norton labels lets you know this is great wine without ever tasting the label. Cheers!

ACRES U.S.A. Ecological Farming Conference

We’re back in the office after spending several days surrounded by the dedicated, inspiring and innovative people at the ACRES U.S.A. ecological farming conference in Columbus, OH. Our Back Forty Creative division of Anda Creative continues to produce great visual communications for responsible farming, food and lifestyle businesses. Next Back Forty stop: NOFA-NY in January!

October 21st is Apple Day!

An apple a day… you know the rest. But today is Apple Day!

Apples are delicious, and they’re very healthy for you too. Apples are a designer’s favorite, as well!

We’re in apple cider season now, as well, so pour yourself a sweet and spicy glass and drink in the benefits.

  • It takes about about 36 apples to create 1 gallon of apple cider
  • Apples are grown in every state in the continental United States
  • Apples contain no fat, sodium or cholesterol and are a good source of fiber.
  • If you eat an apple before you work out, it can increase your endurance.

Take More Notes: A Designer’s Desk

Being organized is an important feature of doing good work and keeping a clear head, but when you’re busy, it’s hard to remember everything.

There are many ways we can use technology and productivity apps to remind us of what we need to accomplish. However, sometimes good, old-fashioned notes are the most direct way to keep tasks in sight/mind, and to jot down ideas. Who doesn’t like to jot?

Anda’s new office spot in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Anda’s east coast studio has recently moved into a creative office space at 67 West St., within the vibrant neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Anda’s sister company Back Forty Creative, dedicated to design for farming and agricultural organizations, was looking for space in Greenthumb, Brooklyn. While Greenthumb does not actually exist, both Anda and Back Forty are happy to be situated in Greenpoint for now.

Turn Off the Lights: A Designer’s Desk

Being organized is an important feature of doing good work and keeping a clear head. There are many ways we can use technology and productivity apps to remind us of what we need to accomplish, but writing yourself notes is a great way to keep track of your tasks and to feel connected to your work. It’s old-fashioned, but it works! Now all you need is a note to remind yourself to write notes.

Call it a Day: A Designer’s Desk

The humans of our office create a very animated environment, but this particular animation/illustration is the first installment of our new series showcasing design elements amongst our everyday office objects.
